Very interesting comments all around.Will explain later why I asked the question.Curious to find out what others think because you often hear politicians making statements regarding the reversal the current programme.I have always wondered just how that would work in ‘real life’.

“Reversing land reform” is a typical straw man argument, presented by the politically bankrupt ZANU-PF.

Let me explain.

1- Person A has position X. (MDCs “We need a land audit to enforce 1-man-1-farm & redistribute unused land”)

2- Person B disregards certain key points of X and instead presents the superficially similar position Y (ZANU-PF “MDCs want to dispossess blacks & return whites to our land”)

3- Person B attacks position Y, concluding that X is false/incorrect/flawed. (ZANU-PF “We will never be a colony again”)

This sort of “reasoning” is fallacious, because attacking a distorted version of a position fails to constitute an attack on the actual position. Hence …

4- Person C wonders WTF person B is talking about, hence this blog post. (You & Me “Nobody threatened to recolonise you, idiot”)

Reversal is really a wrong term and thought. What does any one mean by (reversal) yet it is suppose to be Re confiscation of the rightful inheritance of Zimbabweans.

Reversal is perhaps a wrong term . Reforms of this nature, COST and dimensions cannot be reversed. For one thing, you cannot wake the dead and dispossessed former land ‘owners’ and reinstate them on ‘their’ former properties. Neither can you coerce those who fled the barbarity to return or find their matching replacements. Lets face it things will never be the same as they used to be, good or bad. Truth is; another land reform awaits; and maybe another, and another. Surely one future generation will get it right. This was simply a bad start. But reversal? Who is deluding about reversal?

Who is calling for the reversal of Land Reform? I’ve yet to hear (or read) of any politician calling for such action. Having said that, many people do agree that the implementation of the Land Reform program has been somewhat faulty, and that many of its intended beneficiaries are yet to receive any land.
